Ebony lives in a futuristic world, more technologically advanced, but also more dangerous. Chemical leakage from projects long since shut down has affected the ecosystem dramatically, creating many new species of plants, animals, and fungi. Scientists are determined to document each and every one, delving into dark forests, venturing into deep caverns, and sailing to faraway islands. Unfortunately, many have not returned. Instead of resorting to the military, many choose to spend years searching for these missing brilliant minds. Ebony has never been interested in joining, preferring to keep to themself. However, once their idol, a professional scientific artist, goes missing, they’re determined to find her. Ebony fears they aren’t prepared for what’s ahead, but where they’re going, fear is the best food a plant can hope for…
