lmbo oooKAY so i really liked the base of this design so i wanted to try my hand at a redesign and walk through the process in case it helps :)) you're free to use the redesign with credit or not use it at all idm If you use this redesign please review my ToS and add this next to where you store your design! Finished redesign with effects, I always add shading and chromatic aberration just to make it difficult to colorpick /jj 2. This was the original design! Here's a couple things I was inspired from: - The pink hair and eyes were a fantastic color scheme (they're pretty much opposites on the color wheel, so they match super well!), so I tried to keep their original charm - I liked the idea of having a more "neutral" (desaturated) color outfit like the one in the middle, so I based my redesign's outfit off of that - I used both the headphones and hair ties as accessories 3. This is the design with no color editing! Here's some changes I made: - Desaturated (making the color more gray) everything for a more toned-down outfit! While she looks like someone who wears bright colors, I wanted to base her outfit theme off of the middle design. I added some things like bright yellow shoes and a hair scrunchie to keep some of the bright color within the design - I desaturated the pink in her hair a little bit as a personal stylistic choice to make it more natural looking, but I think a brighter pink would work as well ^^ I also made her eyes more blue instead of teal, to match the desaturated hair - Her skin is also more desaturated and more towards the color red on the color wheel. I usually try not to change skin tone at all on a design, but I felt like with the whole direction you were going with the design (all the colors were cool colors) I felt it would match better with your color scheme for the clothes and hair. I changed it to a more neutral (not really warm or cool) skin tone and tried to change it as little as possible, in order to reflect the original vibe of the design ^^ If you want to keep her skin with warm tones, I'd recommend going a different direction with the design and picking colors that match with warm skin tones (look online for some inspo!) - Originally I was going to give her a coral shirt, but ended up changing it to beige ^^ I always recommend making each element of your design on a separate layer, so it's super easy to edit the color of any piece with the HSB adjustment function - I also gave her silver jewelry (silver goes best with cooler colors) and a purple scrunchie (purple is opposite green on the color wheel, so it matches her coat) as well as some neutral color headphones to match her outfit :) I added stripes on the jacket and shirt, and a patch on the pants for visual interest, as well as different colors in the eyes (the eyes are the focal point of your character!) and a slight gradient in the hair for the same reason. - I'm still really proud of those shoes lol 4. This is where I edit colors to make them more cohesive! Looking back I'm not sure if I like the choice I made here-- I decided to make everything warmer, but I think it might have been better to lean into the cool tones. Oops haha - I do color editing with gradient maps and the color curves tool, as well as HSB adjustment. Usually I'll adjust the colors of each separate clothing item the way I like it, and then copy all my layers and merge all of them together, and apply gradient map and color curve effects to the entire character. An easy way to make colors match! That's all, I hope you found this helpful ^^ This design may only be used by @sourrpatchcat Music is Eighth Wonder by Lemon Demon I colored over a f2u base bcs im lazy which I swear I'll credit next time I use it it's from someone on DA
