Although the amount of active duty personnel is quite low, Naidun makes up for it with approximately 8.4 million reserves. This number is based on Taiwan's ratio of reserves to population (0.098, or about 1:10), applied to Naidun's population of 120 million. If Naidun's sovereignty is threatened, it can call upon the 8.4 million reserves to defend the state. Naidun's reserve policy calls upon all able-bodied males and females from ages 18-21, for at least 1 year of active service, except for: - Pursuing higher education - Childbearing - In the workforce - In a governmental position or career - Citizens with a severe physical or mental disability This policy aims to encourage education and grow the workforce, and population of Naidun. Conscripted troops only deploy to the territory of Naidun, and won't be deployed abroad. Only volunteer forces deploy to the AC front. After conscription, citizens are automatically enlisted as reserve forces into the Nadiun Self-Defense Force. Once per year, reservists must participate in one mandatory training session, located at the citizen's local NSDGF garrison, which elapses one week. This program consists of: - Physical fitness - Weapons training and tactics - First aid - Readiness assessment Reservists are also paid 25,410 Naidunese Yen per year. (about 500 USD, 125 SGC)
Based on ROKA, JSDF, ROC, PLA structure. The NSDGF is split into four armies, the Northern Army, Southern Army, Western Army, and Eastern Army. By far, the Northern army is the largest force in the entire NSDF, protecting the valuable Shodu region, which houses 94% of Naidun's total population.
