The cage moved on robotic legs over the rocky terrain. The slugcat inside bit and clawed at the bars to no avail. All the creatures, even the lizards, gave it a wide berth. Somehow, they all knew what was going on here. This cage was not simply for transport. It was made to bring this creature to its death. No longer "of use", it was simply being disposed of. No matter if it didn't want to ascend- it would see that this was truly the best option. No more fetching things, no more menial tasks. But it still did not want to d!e. Even as the cage reached the pool of void fluid beneath the Iterator's complex, the creature inside it had only one thought. Protect it. Protect their child. Even as they felt the substance corroding at their very being, they refused to d1e. It howled in agony. Its body shifted, becoming incoporeal and nearly unrecognizable as the slugcat it once was. But it was alive, in a way at least. It would find the child. And it would protect it.
Planning to be more active in FF after this! I've been planning on this for a while. Soooo yeah Lo is an echo now
