Instructions

Designs I did for class, since I’ve already turned them in and presented these, I’m okay with sharing them. I could probably talk for hours about the intense amount of research I put into and the references I found, as well as the various eras I pulled from, the time periods of the original story, inspiration from Broadway as well as the movie, etc etc. But I’m a bit tired and I’ll add it later. For now, ask me any questions you like! I’m an amateur historical fashion enthusiast. I also drew several other designs for other characters, but I didn’t think they were particularly special or good.

Description

The Rapunzel dress is one of my favourites, I’d definitely wear it. It’s based on late baroque and rococo for late 17th century France. I have an affinity for puff sleeves and will do them whenever a design has sleeves…. Cinderella’s peasant outfit is actually based directly on a confirmed outfit from the 1880’s (Victorian era) of a working woman. Cinderella’s dress was based in willow trees and Victorian tea gowns mixed with Edwardian evening dresses. Rapunzel’s colour palette is entirely based on corn…. (And OG concept art for tangled had her in green too)
