another rushed cat drawing by @Birde (the OC is StarFlower) PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS. I was looking around Scratch, and I noticed a whole lot of people were advertising. And I completely support that. Here's why: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Advertising means you want attention, right? Right. But it does NOT mean they're attention hogs. If someone advertises someone else on their own project/profile, are they being attention hogs? No. So why- besides the fact that you're advertising yourself-is that different? I, personally, LIKE to look at other people's advertised projects, for several reasons. Reasons like -'lesser' Scratchers get recognised more -the project may not actually be that bad -it could give you ideas for a lot of things -you could get a new friend!(if you're not antisocial) I can understand why you think it is annoying. I see why you ask them not to advertise. But have you ever seen a reply to an advertisement be actually polite? I think not. "Don't advertise. It's annoying" is not polite or kind. Try "Please don't advertise on this project. Thank you! :)" sometime. It'll make everyone happy. If you felt lonely and wanted at least a VIEW, you could advertise to someone, and what would you think when someone tosses your work away before they even look at it? I'll tell you what I would think. I would think that I was unappreciated, and useless, and I might even leave scratch. I would not advertise anymore, but I would probably feel really put down. I wouldn't know, though, because I've never advertised, but you would agree, wouldn't you? All I ask is that if you don't want advertisers on your projects, request that no one advertises in the Instructions/Notes of your project. If you don't, it's completely okay. Try looking at one or two of them. Maybe you could say "you know, I'm kind of busy right now, so I can't look at this at the moment," or you could just ignore them. So this ends my humble lecture. Hopefully you understand what I'm getting at. And yes, this is based off of a YouTube video. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you have any opinions on this, I would love to hear them. I may or may not reply to them, though, because I am busy. Also, this would be a great place to advertise projects that you feel should be viewed more. Be aware that if I see any arguments that are not civilized then I will delete them, and if you continue to argue on this project I will turn off commenting. So, for the sake of commenting, keep your debates civilized.
