NOTE: If you are a developer working on the game still, YOU MUST read this. (Important for @Dinostroid , @BrickPlex , @Sekiyo and anyone else still producing content) OK, I'm back to development! Generally within only Captain Falcon finished and Pikachu nearly finished, with other stages and content made that I'll program in. I don't have too much to announce, but I am going to go over the development timeline of what's left. And this is going to be a pretty major announcement. SSBG's OST is now completed at 70 tracks! You can view the full OST at the bottom of this project after you finish reading the direct. Additionally, I'm glad to announce that another 31 biographies will be added to make the bio roster finalized at 126 bios. Some may surprise you, but it's mostly just Nintendo characters since SSBG currently has an underwhelming representation of series like Animal Crossing, which will now get a bio and a music track. This is so in case anyone wants to mod characters in there'll already be bios for everyone to make their own rosters! (since the SSBG team obviously can't add everyone, so make your own fan game out of SSBG if you want!) Development timeline: June: - Remaining stages get programmed (Jolly Roger Bay, Emerald Coast, Pokémon Stage, StarFox Stage, Shadow Moses Island -- a Yoshi stage and/or some more competitive layouts for stages like Bramble Scramble or Ghavoran if you're lucky) - Fixing up the gameplay engine and perfect the controls for competitive play (So when you preform a move or dash attack your speed doesn't stop at all) I'll give more generous hitboxes and buffs to characters to make SSBG as close to SSF2. - I'll include those bios and finish up the menu demo excluding the select screens since the roster could always receive cuts. July / August: - Donkey Kong, Jibanyan, Fox and Luigi will be added in. No one else, unless BrickPlex makes a sheet, but don't count on it. Dinostroid will be working super hard these two months to get this done but once these guys are done unless we go for online then we should be all good. September: - Any remaining final patches and final changes to the engine. Online play if you're lucky, so it'll patches for a few days, then online. Other stuff like the remaining stock icons or updated HUD portraits will get in here. - Merging the two games into one. (Menu and engine) Any other menu demo stuff I'm working on over time E.G. Proofreading and finalizing bios, finalizing flashbacks, side-features, select screens, etc. Super Smash Bros. Gold will release on October 1st. I cannot delay the game any further past that due to exams and I'm pretty much too busy to work on SSBG in November and December- the former of which marks the 3 year development anniversary. And I'm not developing in 2025 when I'm out of school, same with most other devs. 7 years ago I came up with the idea for this game. 107 days to go until that idea is realized. (Side note: Uploaded the menu again but on this account and I'll flesh it out over time until perfection e.g. properly crediting everyone, finishing the flashbacks, last minute additions to the soundtrack, etc.) SSBG's Final Content line-up: Fighters: Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Pikachu, Link, Samus, Kirby, Ness, Fox, Captain Falcon, Sonic, Jibanyan and Goku. Stages: Battlefield (SSBG), Final Destination (SSBG), Test, Menu, Ground Stage, Jolly Roger Bay, Bramble Scramble, Pokemon Stage, South-West Sea, Temple (Melee), Ghavoran, Dedede's Arena, Magicant (SSB3DS), StarFox Stage, Mute City (SSBG), Wii Channel, WarioWare Inc, Emerald Coast, Angel Island, Mt. Wildwood, Motel No More Heroes, Shadow Moses Island, Hyperbolic Time Chamber. (Not including variants) Menu (Bios, OST, Behind the Scenes, etc.) https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1031018338/ Engine v11 (To-Do List in project): https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1037987981/ Personal update: I might be busy by July to mid July again since SSBG is very time consuming and I need that time to study for my exams, but these holidays I've got a lot planned. Asides from SSBG development, I've got a lot of drawing to do with advancing my style and a lot of games to play. I bought all the SSBU DLC so I'll put out a tier list soon and I'm replaying Re4. Plan on playing ReHD, finishing Subspace, SMG2, my fourth NMH1 playthrough, EarthBound, and maybe even speedrunning MGS3 for the first time. I've got a lot of unwinding to do, but I promise I'll try my best to get SSBG nigh finished by these holidays.
