Wake up! New poetry dropped! I loved this moment but it also made me sad. But that’s was makes for good poetry, I suppose! Very similar to the Pearl poem, Lizzie’s poem has a wholesome fairytale rhythm and rhyme, while having darker implications. Though this one leans more into nursery rhyme territory. Itty-bitty Lizzie Itty bitty Lizzie Sat atop a threaded spool Waiting for her friends Thinking herself a fool Itty bitty Lizzie With her candles all around Watched them drip drip dripping Through the cake, the floor, the ground Itty bitty Lizzie Wiping off the wax Grabbed her itty bitty blade And went on the attack Itty bitty Lizzie Thought herself a caring host Now they’d have to haunt her party Cause then they’d all be ghosts!
