INFORMATION: Screenshots from a really indev version of SGA2, I happened to know a playtester (will be called "leakysteve" here to protect their identity) who shared info on the game and the screenshots here. Basically the games development has only started properly now, and no one on the team has any idea what it's about, so they're basically waiting on the lead developer, @mewtube47, to tell them what to do, which so far is nothing, leakysteve also mentioned that the team is thinking of having it be original zones only, so the stage shown here is only temporary to test out the physics and debug it, with the engine being known internally as M.E.W 2.
