How they move Pawn: Can move 2 spaces forward on first turn. Moves one space forward. Attacks forward diagonal Rook: Moves forward, sideways, and backwards however far they want. That's also how they attack Knight: Can jump over other pieces. Moves in L shapes Bishop: Moves diagonal however far they want and attacks that way Queen: The most powerful piece. Moves in ANY direction (forwards any way and backwards any way) how ever far they want King: Moves any direction like they queen but only one space
