Mallory Malfoy| An Hp FanFic| Chapter 6 Year 2 How was it already that time? How on earth, was I already starting my second year! Summer had started and before I knew it, here I was, saying goodbye to my mum-again. "Oh I can't believe it's that time again. I'm so going to miss you Mallie." "Oh mum, I'll miss you too. But I'll be back for Christmas." "I know, but it's so far." We embraced each other for a few moments before pulling away. "Write to me, even if you have nothing to say. Simply say hi?" "Mum, you'll be alright. I'll be alright. Christmas will come before either one of us knows it and then I'll leave and then be back again. I know it won't be the same without dad around but we'll be okay." "Oh honey." "Mom, I love you. I have to board the train now. I'll write you tonight, promise." I could tell my mother wanted to say more but I hugged her and gave her a kiss before she could. "I love you Mallory. Always remember that." And with that I boarded the Hogwarts Express. Didn't take me long to find Nova and Adrian. Mostly because they saw me and pulled me into the compartment by my sleeves. "Seriously?! Next time just shout my name." But I couldn't be mad, they were my best friends and I loved them beyond words. Which is why we all smiled and hugged one another for five minutes. "I can't believe how fast summer went by." Said Nova "But I'm so glad to be going back to school." "You two are the only reason I came back at all." Came Adrian's reply. "We know." We enjoyed the hours long ride and got to talking about all the things we were excited to do this year. Before we knew it, there it was. Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Still as beautiful as ever. "Guys, this is going to be a good year, I can feel it." "I'm just ready to have our old Friday 'freedom sessions' back. And an endless supply of food. Speaking of which, Mal will you please bake me a pie?" "Adrian, we haven't even stepped into the castle, chill. And yes. Obviously." We made our way into the great hall and took seats at the Gryffindor table. "Hey Mallory!" I heard a voice call. I turned and saw Albus and Scorpius behind me. "Hey boys! Missed you! Good summer?" Albus shrugged, "Alright. Lots of 'family time'." "I mostly went to the theater and skate park and read some new books." Said Scorpius. "Nice." I said smiling. "Well, I'll see you two around the halls. Can't wait to kick your butts at winning the House Cup again!" And with that I took my seat and the sorting began. We had an addition of 14 new Gryffindors, 10 Ravenclaws, 9 Hufflepuffs and 4 Slytherins. One of the Gryffindors was actually Adrian's little brother, Zach. After a delicious welcome dinner, the three of us- with Zach in tow- made our way to the tower. We stayed up reading and sipping apple cider until midnight. Zach didn't make it past 9, poor thing. As we went our separate ways I looked back at Nova, then at Zach and Adrian and smiled. It felt- dare I say- magical, to be back within the comfort of Hogwarts. I knew that no matter what life threw at me, I'd always have my trio to count on. Right?
