I thought I’d give the cute deer gal a war chant and I don’t see anything wrong with that. At first I wasn’t sure what to do with this poem because we only had one season with Gem, but then I thought I could focus on the red apocalypse, but THEN I started writing and found I really liked the idea of focus on the fact that she wasn’t there in past seasons. I like it, and I hope you do too. Gem’s Battle Cry I wasn’t there when the swords were swung But my sword swings loud as a war song’s sung I wasn’t there when the forests burned But I’ll light them up when their backs are turned I wasn’t there when their love was war But I’ve got a fight settled in my core I wasn’t there when the clocks all broke But guess who emerged from the burning smoke Cause now I’m here where the secrets lie Been a long time coming, now time to die
