entering for purple name: wisteria age: 11 in cat(??) years first pic is original, second is my drawing I opened my eyes. “Mama?” I whispered. “Papa?” I looked around viciously. All I could see were crystals. Purple crystals. I looked down at my paws to feel the relief of seeing anything else. But that helped nothing. Even my paws were crystals. I curled up into a ball and started to cry. Suddenly one word- a name- started ringing in my mind. ‘Wisteria.’ ‘Wisteria.’ ‘Wisteria.’ Was that my name? Probably, since it felt so important. Apparently, someone heard my sobbing and had traveled into the crystal cave. “Is there a kit in here?” they asked. I thought for a moment. Was I a kit? ‘Kit’ sounded a bit like ‘kitten,’ and I felt a lot like a kitten. Eventually I decided that was good enough, and I cried, “Down here!” Another cat- regular paws, I noticed- walked over to me. They gasped when they saw my paws- and bow, which I had now discovered. “What happened to you, little kit?” I started to cry even more. “I don’t…” I said quietly, “I don’t know.” They looked up to the entrance then back at me. “What’s your name?” I thought for a bit, then answered. “Wisteria.” The other cat sighed and picked me up by the scruff. I went limp and looked up at them. They didn’t look back down. I opened my eyes. A moss-bed was much more comforting to wake up from than a crystal. My new mother was Crystalglow (which she thought was very amusing, since I was found on a crystal) and my new siblings were Opalkit and Rubykit. I was Amethystkit. A new name, a new home, and a new life. All in the matter of one moon. An apprentice ceremony should certainly tie it all together. The leader, Froststar, called a Clan meeting. We all walked to the Highrock. Froststar started to speak. “Amethystkit, Opalkit, and Rubykit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day, until you receive your warrior names, you will be known as Amethystpaw, Opalpaw, and Rubypaw.” He turned his head to the warriors. “Moonshine, Fallingfur, and Mistytail, you are ready to take on apprentices. You have received excellent training from (idk some mentors), and you have shown yourself to be resilient and knowledgeable. You will be the mentors of Amethystpaw, Opalpaw, and Rubypaw, and I expect you to pass on all you know to them.” He concluded. “Clan dismissed.” I opened my eyes. What happened yesterday? Oh, yeah. Me and my siblings became apprentices. I yawned and got up. The sky was looking brighter than normal. I looked down at my paws. I sighed. Still glowing, purple crystals. I walked out of the den and yawned again. Opalpaw walked up to me. “Hi, Amy!” I rolled my eyes. “That sounds like a loner name. More likely, a kittypet name.” Opalpaw snickered. “Then it suits you perfectly.” I started to tackle him when Moonshine walked over. “Amethystpaw, are you ready for training?” I got off of Opalpaw and nodded. I followed Moonshine. We hunted, battled, and patrolled. Same as always. It continued like this for a good six moons. When I finally reached the 12-moon mark, Froststar called a warrior naming ceremony. I opened my eyes. I had them closed for what was to come. Froststar started the ceremony. “Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the Highrock for a Clan meeting. Amethystpaw, can you please step up?” I stepped in front of the other cats. Froststar nodded. “I, Froststar, leader of ShadowClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in their turn. Her new name as a warrior will be ‘Amethystpulse,’ for her pulsing amethyst paws.” He concluded. “Clan dismissed.” I looked up in shock. A warrior. I was… a warrior. Finally. Finally I could make some changes. I opened my eyes. Rubypaw looked at me in anger. “How come you got to be a warrior!” I was startled. I got up. “I don’t know. Why are you mad at me?” She stamped her paw. “Because I was supposed to be made a warrior! I asked Froststar himself!” I stepped back. “You did?” Rubypaw unsheathed her claws. “Yes, mousebrain!” “I…” I looked nervously at her sharp claws. “I guess he just thought I deserved it more than you.” She growled and swiped my ear. I dodged and ran out of the den and out of the Clan borders. Rubypaw stared me dead in the eye. In a cold, low tone, she said, “Don’t come back.” and that’s it! love to leave y’all on a cliffhanger!
