!- Warning : may include spoilers to warrior cats -! I haven’t made a warrior cat project in ages, if not ever, but I just found out about the new warriors arc title and blurb that’s just been released and eee!!! The 9th arc for warrior cats is called Changing Skies, and follows Tawnypelt, Leafstar, and Moonpaw. The cover for the first book (which has been shown as in the thumbnail) features Leafstar at the front and Tawnypelt and Crowfeather in the back. The blurb : “ As Leafbare approaches, a new danger threatens the Clans. Twoleg construction has encroached on Clan territory, poisoning the stream and making prey especially scarce for SkyClan. Meanwhile, their leader, Leafstar is struggling with a loss of vision while trying maintain authority over a Clan that increasingly doubts her ability to lead. In ShadowClan, Tawnypelt senses peril as the Twoleg construction threatens the Moonpool, but she can’t get anycat, especially her son, Tigerstar, to listen. Frustrated with the younger cats who don't respect her, she decides to take matters into her own paws. In the midst of the chaos, Moonpaw, an apprentice struggling to understand the mysterious voice in her head, thinks that she might be having visions. But the voice becomes increasingly sinister, and Moonpaw wonders if’s a sign of darkness on the horizon. ” Things I’ve noticed: - 1. Crowfeather is featured in the cover, but he isn’t mentioned at all throughout the blurb. Maybe it’s because he isn’t a protagonist, and he’ll be a side character along on ‘the elder’s quest’ (which I think is self explanatory), or maybe he’ll have another important role in the book. Though I think it’s likely he’ll accompany Leafstar and Tawnypelt (possibly moonpaw as well? Though she might stay and be the pov at the lake while the others quest or smth, idk). - 2. (Crowfeather again lol) I am wondering why crowfeather would be chosen for whatever quest, as he’s not mentioned at all in the blurb. It’s clear that Leafstar is struggling with running her clan while being quite old, and Tawnypelt is struggling similarly to gain keep the respect and trust of her clan mates. But what’s Crowfeather’s deal? Why’s he coming? There’s a good chance it’s for the same reasons, but I find it curious he’s not mentioned. It seems likely that they’ll all be brought together by alike reasons, feeling doubted by their clan mates as mentioned in the blurb. - 3. It seems like both Tawnypelt and Leafstar’s problems are somewhat rooted in the twolegs, and construction they bring. Perhaps the twolegs will be the cause of the destruction of the moonpool, as mentioned in the cover reveal on the warriors website. While moonpaw’s plot point seems more vision and Starclan based, it’s likely this will tie into why the twolegs are there. Who knows, maybe we’ll see some connections or interactions between the clans and twolegs we’ve never seen before. That would be pretty cool in my opinion. - 4. Moonpaw’s name. I find it interesting that in the arc said to be focusing on the destruction of the moonpool, and the loss of connection with Starclan, that one of the protagonists would be called /moon/paw. There’s a chance that it’s just for dramatic effect or simply it’s a nice prefix/for fun, but I think it would’ve been chosen for a reason. /Why/ is she named moonpaw? Is it because of her outward appearance, a trait she has, or something more? It seems likely her visions will be somehow related to the destruction of the moonpool and the twolegs, since, after all, that’s the whole plot of the arc from what we’ve seen. - 5. ‘But the voice becomes increasingly sinister, and moonpaw wonders if it’s a sign of darkness on the horizon’ ok, so, evil cat/creature threatening Moonpaw in visions? Telling of a darkness ahead? This isn’t exactly a new plot point, as it’s been used in warrior’s various times. I’m excited to see how they make this scenario a unique one. The moonpool has been important the the warriors plot numerous times before, and the whole twolegs destroying territory definitely isn’t new either, as well as ominous visions. So what will put this arc apart from the rest? I could go on and on about this and everything, but uhh that would probably get boring fast so I’ll stop there. I think this arc has a lot of promise, and, assuming the team use it to their advantage, outdo be one of the best yet. I’m very intrigued by the role twolegs will have in al, of this, will cats and twolegs communicate more? Will we see some bonds and understanding between them? While it seems a little unlikely, since that may take away from the essence of warriors, it’s still a very fun idea and I’m reallly excited to see what the series has in store. Also yeah I added ivypool’s heart to the thumb because I’m super excited for that too, even though it was announced way back in January. Ivypool’s one of my fav characters so I’m super excited!! Guys comment theories etc >:DDD
