I laid down on my bed, on the side that's closest to the wall. Ikari was laying next to me, already asleep. She seemed to not be in a comfy position. I was about to fall asleep when she rolled over and put her arms around me. I froze, not knowing what to do. I considered waking her up, but that’d be rude. Plus, her warmth wasn’t so bad, it made me feel calm. I decided to just go to sleep and leave it be. I closed my eyes, and for the first time in a while, I fell asleep almost as soon as my eyes closed. I opened my eyes and noticed that Ikari was awake. She seemed awkward. I wondered why she was still in bed if she was awake. I then noticed her arm under my back. I quickly sat up, and she seemed startled at my sudden movement, not realizing until just now that I had woken up. “Why didn’t you wake me up? I would’ve moved!” I told her, my face red out of embarrassment. She smiled, “Sorry, you just seemed too peaceful!” she said, sounding more like she whining. “Plus, you shouldn’t yell at me, you’re the one who made my arm fall asleep! It hurts…” She sounded pitiful. I sighed, my face red as a rose, “Whatever, next time don't be so shy, you can wake me up, I won't mind.” She smiled wide after I said the words ‘next time’ as if it were an unbreakable promise that there would be a next time. I felt my embarrassment calm down, “Are you hungry?” I asked. She nodded eagerly. I led her to the kitchen and made her waffles. Whenever I did stay at home, I watched videos and learned how to cook. I set down the waffles on the table, separating them into two different plates, and then went to grab the syrup. I put a bit of syrup on my plate, then handed the syrup to Ikari, whose mouth was watering at the smell of waffles. Ikari put some butter on her pancakes, which I got for her from the fridge, and then overdosed the waffles with syrup. I wondered how she could eat things with so much sugar all over them.
