Before reading, this is not targeted at anyone and is just a synopsis of my experience of being part of GWDFI for the part year and a half. Feel free to ask questions or comment about a certain thing I mention on here, as it's normal to debate and voice your own opinion. Note: I may change my essay in the future. I've noticed many problems arise from the GWDFI such as (for lack of a better term) unable managers. But managers aren't the only problem, the server as a whole and it's rule base could be reworked to make a much more stable server. My suggestions are as follows: ========= 1. New manager requirements ========= So there is a problem with "popular" people being managers, but to combat that I have a suggestion: we have a select criteria for each manager. Right now it feels as though there is no criteria or requirements for a manager or host except for being popular, and there is no reasoning that the people of GWDFI can see on why a person becomes a manager. With this idea we could have system where we test a person to see if they are able to operate a server. There should be a test that people must pass to be able to become a manager. Note: do not test people at random times, instead tell them that you want them to be manager and for them to take a test (perhaps remixing a project with their own answers). Also, make the reasons why a manager is being picked known to everyone, that way we know why they are manager, also that others may try to be more like them, and thus conduct themselves better. =========== 2. New Rule Committee =========== (This is not as serious of a suggestion as the first on as this is a completely new suggestion, expect flaws as you read it, also note how I did not know that the GWDFI cabinet server existed, this is just my take) I feel like having an unbiased group, separate from the GWDFI managers would be a good way to have a balanced system. This group will be hosted by @mommimi2. Mommimi2 will chose and select people deemed worth and trustworthy enough to be in said group (they would also take a test too). This group will just think of rules and will take in complaints and filter them out through a criteria. They will also be able to make changes to rules, but only with Mommimi2's approval. With an unbiased group separate from GWDFI think the server will improve immensely. Note: This new group will be monitored and won't have more power than the host or managers, perhaps less. Just a group of people to who are tasked at seeing what will better the future of GWDFI.
