Now, Heiwa's dad is just neglectful, prioritizing his job over anything else and working 24/7.
Ikari smiled, “Welcome! I waited for you!” She said with a smile. I sagged my shoulders in defeat, father wouldn't let me stay home alone while he went to work. He’d much rather me stay at a nearby park outside. I ignored Ikari like I did the day before, but that didn’t stop her from talking. “So, Kitty, is your name Hei?” She asked. She must’ve overheard my dad calling my name. I’m glad I stopped him from fully saying it. I shook my head, no, so she decided to guess. “Hail? Heim? Heil?” She guessed. All no. “Hay? Haila? Haizi?” More no’s. “Stop guessing,” I said, annoyed. This time, she ignored me. She guessed a couple more times, then sighed in defeat. “This game is too hard! I give up, just tell me already” She said, whining. “No. I’m not telling you my name, I already told you!” I snapped at her. She sighed, “Fine, I guess I’ll just call you Kitty until you warm up to me,” She said, feigning sadness. I knew she liked calling me the nickname, it was annoying that she pretended she didn’t. “Wanna go on the swings?” She asked, quickly overcoming her fake sadness. I was a bit embarrassed to admit I didn't know how to swing so I declined. She shrugged it off, “How about we go on the double slides? They’re right next to each other, so we can go at the same time!” Ikari said, smiling. I sighed, not wanting to disappoint her too much, I nodded reluctantly. I at least knew how to slide. She grabbed my hand, pulling me to the slides. The top of the slide was a bit higher than I thought it’d be, I didn’t like height very much. She was still holding onto my hand, “Sit down! I’ll go on the left one, you go on the right one.” She said. I nodded and sat down. “I’ll do a countdown, and when I say one, slide!” Ikari instructed. I nodded. She started counting down, “Three…” I noticed that Ikari was still holding my hand, I hoped that she wouldn’t accidentally fall and pull me with her. “Two…” The slide was noticeably tall. Too tall. I didn't like that. “One!” This was too much, I tried to stop, but Ikari still held my hand when she slid down the slide. I slid down involuntarily, now realizing that Ikari probably held my hand so I wouldn’t back out last second. She was shockingly observant. Finally, we reached the bottom of the slide, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I sighed in relief, “That wasn’t so scary as you thought it’d be, was it Kitty?” Ikari said, amused. I scoffed, not admitting it, “I wasn’t scared anyway,” I said. It wasn’t true, but I didn’t care, I wasn’t going to let her know I was scared of anything. I wasn’t going to let her know anything else about me.
