The Dixie Square Mall (1966-2012) was a mall in Harvey, Illinois. It is partially known for being the mall with it's interior being destroyed for a scene in "The Blues Brothers", filmed in 1980, when two gangsters in a car drive through the mall, crashing into many stores along with dozens of police cars behind, causing even more mayhem. After that, Universal Pictures was attempted at being sued by the town that Dixie Square was in because of the damage it had caused to the mall. And after 1981, instead of repairs, the whole mall was left abandoned for over 30 years.
