I’m not going to sugarcoat it. I strongly dislike Scratch at the moment. Its moderation system is garbage, people use easily fixable exploits to get on trending, and the community is a lot more toxic than it used to be. I’m not going to go over the 1st and 3rd topics today, but I am going to talk about the side effects of the second. Let’s give an example. I’ve been posting for 3 years and managed to rack up a pretty good 500 followers. So why am I here complaining? Here’s why. And before you keyboard warriors scramble to say something across the lines of “Oh BuT sCrAtCh ShOuLdNt Be AbOuT SoCiAl! JuSt MaKe ThInGs FoR FuN!!!!”, let me tell ya, I’ve been doing this for 3 years and most of my ORIGINAL, NON-REMIXED projects get barely any views, even today. My “EITSO… @Moyopoto3!” project, which I spent 7 hours on, mind you, got a handful of views. “BuT sTyLe ImItAtIoN iSn’t ReAl ArT, mAn!!1! iT’S jUsT cOpYiNg OtHeRs WoRk!!” Yeah, yeah, I get that, but it takes time and effort, and it’s my THING! (This is kinda outdated now…) I’m thinking about unsharing my lazy and/or never seen projects because I wish to reduce my project count. Why though? Every time I remix a popular scratcher’s project (bonus points if I was the first) I get HUNDREDS of views. Most of the time, these are LAZY. I had to unshare a lazy first remix today because it was reaching 1000 views. Meanwhile my GOOD work gets 2 views and a shoestring. How will I combat the scratch site hating me? I said I’d do this a lot earlier. I will post a lot less, maybe once every week or two, and (re) post other trash on my alt, @EBWWkirby. (I hate that name so much…) If you want to see my trash previously on here, follow them. This concludes rant number three. Sorry for wasting your time again. Bye bye.
