Just what the heck even happened during Trooper Down 1?! This project is here to explain it in the best way possible. Using bits of lore that I came up with, I think its safe to say that this is one of the most accurate sources you'll get for a TD1 recap Do not scroll down if you don't want spoilers RECAP: The year is 2096. Humanity has been at war with an alien species known as the Fury. Intelligent beings with hive-mind behavior and strategies. Most believe they are just wild insects who work together to kill, and nothing more But some believe that there’s more to them than just numb-minded hatred. Some believe they are smarter than we give credit for, as the whole “nothing but brutality” mindset could be exactly what they want us to think The first few years of the war were tough, as we were already at war with each other. The BloodKnife Coalition and the ISA (inter system alliance) were fighting over mars when first contact began. Many brave souls were lost to the newly found alien threat, but thanks to advanced Naval might, Earth was barely harmed in the conflict We began winning Slowly, battle after battle, we found their weak points and exploited them 89 hostile vessels have fallen since then, and only around 20 human ships were lost in the process. The BloodKnife Coalition collapsed and joined forces with the ISA. They were then Split off into multiple combat groups. The ODG (outer defense group) and the IDG (Inner defense group) With the newly found false sense of security that our superior navy had provided, we began using less and less resources to defend our ships. This mistake almost cost us the War… A ship by the name of the ODG Raider was on a routine planetary shipping run. The ship carried around 20-30 crew members and 200 tons of cargo. None of the crew knew it, but the captain of the ship was secretly assigned to transport vital information that intelligence had picked up. His name was Captain Garared Beks, and he had only been informed by intelligence not 3 days prior What information? Proof to the governments of Earth AND Mars that the Fury weren’t as weak as we had made them look, and with this new knowledge, the government would bring more money into strengthening defenses. Had they not known? Then within the next 20 years of underpreparement, the results would be of certain defeat But the Raider wasn’t home yet Escorting the ship was a small 3-fighter squadron, led by Commander Ronald Sterling, a pilot from the IDG. Ronald was skeptical about the mission, his 2 wingmen however, were not. See, they weren’t informed on the actual purpose of this mission. In fact, nobody involved knew besides Beks and Sterling Sterling's Skepticisms had truth to them The Fury, Had arrived (continued in credits)

Description

(Continued from instructions) They had staged an ambush, hidden in the darkness of space. Jamming the radar, a small group of about half a dozen fighters and one spawn ship launched their attack 2 heat seeking missiles slammed into one of the fighters, right before Sterling could warn them. The small, one-man ship, was instantly obliterated A small dogfight broke out. Sterling, although caught off guard, managed to down 2 enemy spacecraft. But pretty soon, they were overwhelmed. The last remaining wingman was shot down, and Sterling was slowly losing control. Beks called out as Sterlings reactor failed, and his fighter spun out of control into the void of space All 3 pilots were reported K.I.A The battle only lasted around 5 minutes The Raider had no guns to fight off the overwhelming force. The single Fury Spawn Ship was used as an interstellar death weapon. It has an impressive armament of missiles and turrets, and can hold nearly 2 divisions worth of Fury soldiers and beasts. At any point in time, the ship had the fullest ability to obliterate the Raider in one single strike. But, for some strange reason, it did not The truth is that the Fury wanted to capture Captain Beks alive. Something the Fury rarely did. It's a truly terrifying experience, and has only happened a handful of times The Raider had been caught in a magnetic field, and wasn’t able to escape. Pretty soon, several boarding parties were inside. Firefights broke out, and many crew members were killed in the fighting Unknown to Beks, the navy had been watching the ship with a close eye in case something like this happened. Special forces were on their way. (Neither side knew of of this) The battle wasn’t going well. The Fury were relentless, and just before the last of the remaining human soldiers on board were killed off, the special forces had arrived just in time Among them was the soldier by the name of Gavryn, a Trooper who had fought ever since the days of the Mars campaigns. He was part of the BloodKnife Coalition when he first joined as a fighter. He has some of the most experience in ground combat than anyone else in the Navy. Without him, the Raider would’ve been lost in space These were the events of TD1 Aftermath: The information was successfully delivered to the governments of both planets Collectively they agreed that the new threat of a tactically brilliant enemy was very much at hand, and even the secret mission was proof. The mission was covered up as an unfortunate ambush that was thankfully saved by “hero’s” of the navy. The governments would also hide the fact that the Fury were indeed more intelligent then they first appeared. They didn’t want to cause mass panic, and so as a result, almost 90% of the human population of 2 entire planets still believed that they were safely protected. And they’d be half correct. The Navy still outmatched the Fury vessels, and even if the Fury sent a giant invasion force, they would still suffer extreme losses. And who knows? Humans might not be the only enemy the Fury is waging war against. Intergalactic conflict is hard to manage. But that’s just skepticism… Several years go by. It’s been ages since the Fury have sent any combat vessels. Most believe the enemy has given up. Then… the Valkyrie incident occurred (to be continued in TD2 Recapped) Credits: Lore and Art by me, SMG design by @IoxPaul
