Mallory Malfoy| An HP FanFic| Chapter 5 The end of my first year was coming to an end. I could feel it in the air, nobody truly wanted to leave no matter how much they had said so before. But I did. My father was dead and my mother needed me. And I needed her. Nova, Adrian and I had made a promise to keep in touch and to try and meet up a couple times. I had a feeling that they would see each other more than I would. It was during one of the last Herbology sessions that I ended up in the Hospital Wing. We had been dealing with biting dead magical plants(I had tuned out the whole lecture) and as a result I got bit. I would have just shrugged it off but the Professor insisted I leave the school with all my limbs. I made my way up to the Wing and sat down on a bed across from a fellow Gryffindor. I hadn't the vaguest clue who she was. The girl looked up at me and at the same time we said "Plant bite." We couldn't help but giggle. "I'm Luci. Luci Potter. You are?" "Gregory. Mallory Gregory. Nice to make your acquaintence." I had never talked with Luci before and I felt bad. She was a fellow first year and probably felt as lost as everyone else. "Hey." I whispered. "Wanna get out of here? I think some dessert and butterbeer will feel better on these bites than medicine." She hesitated. She wanted too but she also probably wasn't use to breaking rules. "Okay. Let's do it." Smiling we both jumped out of our beds and met at the door. I reached my hand out and upon Luci taking it, we bounded out the door. A new friendship beginning. Luci and I hung out several more times until the end of the year. We exchanged phone numbers and addresses so that we could keep in touch. Adrian and Nova had gotten used to Luci and had accepted her as one of us. On the last day, the four of us walked down the hall to the front doors until a voice stopped me. "Mallory! Wait up." We all turned and saw that Scorpius and Albus were jogging towards our group. "Hey boys, what's up?" "First off, congrats on surviving your first year. Probably wasn't your ideal year but nonetheless you did it." Said Albus. "Thank you Al. Cngrats on you for getting closer to graduating." Scorpius handed me a piece of paper letter. "You can read the letter on the train or when you get home but the paper has mine and Al's numbers and addresses. If you ever need anything, we're here." What else could I do but tackle the two boys who feel like brothers to me? They laughed and each gave me a kiss on the forehead. "We're always here if you need anything. Always." "I know. I'll see you soon. Both of you." On the train ride Luci, Adrian Nova and I exchanged stories of our year and hopes for next year. Before we knew it, we were back at King's Cross. We had no choice but to say goodbye for the time being. It wouldn't be the last time we saw each other and we knew that. Deep in our hearts we knew that no matter where we were, we would find each other. Because that's what family does.
