I headed back to the Temple of Time. I believed it was the right place for me to do what I was about to do. Are you sure about this? A voice in my mind said. Once you do it. . .there is no turning back. I closed my eyes. This is what I have to do, I thought. This is the reason I am here. Link. . .I have to deliver the sword to him. I walked out to the circular stone platform behind the temple, setting the Master Sword on the stone pedestal. I looked up at the sky, closing my eyes and taking a deep breath. The memories filled my head again. Rauru’s hand holding Ganondorf down. The Master Sword shard cutting his face. His words toward me and Link. “Was that the sword that seals the darkness? A blade that shatters so easily against my power cannot save you from me.” The Deku Tree as he explained the Master Sword’s power. “The sword will continue to gain strength if bathed in sacred power. The stronger that power, the more powerful the sword becomes.” Sonia comforting me about my powers. “After all, you possess more than power over time. You have a sacred power that can dispel evil.” Mineru telling me about the act of draconfication. “To swallow a Secret Stone is to become an immortal dragon. One blessed with eternal life.” I opened my eyes, looking in front of me, where Mineru’s spirit hovered. I held out the Purah Pad. “Mineru. . .I’m counting on you.” The flame shrank down and disappeared into the Purah Pad. A Zonai construct approached me, and I gently placed the device in its hands. It turned and hovered away. I walked to the pedestal where the Master Sword lay. I looked down at it. “Link. I will restore the Master Sword for you. I will care for it until the time comes. I will pour my sacred power into it. It will be the weapon that defeats the Demon King!” Again, I suppressed the nervous feeling rising within me. I reached up and pulled the Secret Stone off my necklace. I held it in my hands, looking down on it. I was reminded of Mineru’s words once more. “To become an immortal dragon is to lose oneself.” I closed my eyes, hesitating. “You must. . .” I told myself. Just. . .get it over with. . . I lifted my hand, put the stone in my mouth, and swallowed. (continued in description)

Tears formed in its eyes, falling and spreading across all of Hyrule. The dragon disappeared into the clouds, and they parted, sunlight shining through onto the temple. And from the cliffside overlooking the temple, the remaining four sages stood, staring up at where the dragon had disappeared. . . . Link opened his eyes. The final teardrop fell to the ground, soaking into the sand. Link was silent, taking a moment to fully realize everything he had just seen.
