these are Saffron's parents, his father (Smoke) wanted his mother to kill him because there was a disease going on and he was afraid that he would carry it but his mother (Caramel) refused to do so and told him that if he was afraid then he could take his siblings (Lavender, Jake, Brindle and Milky) and leave, that caused Smoke to go into a fit and threaten to kill Caramel unless she killed him, Caramel still refused and Smoke tried to hurt her. That night Caramel took Saffron and ran away, she told him why when he was old enough to know why he had no siblings and no father.
