The human inhabitants have lived there for countless centuries, ruled by a reasonable royal family. At this time, magic was widespread; many apprentices learned the way of the witches and wizards. The town’s citizens lived in harmony until the royal family’s only child was kidnapped. The king and queen were elderly and could no longer have children. Thus, the battle for power began. It started as a silent epidemic. The fate of the kingdom was on everybody’s mind but none dared to speak of it, for anything suggesting the end of the royal rule would be treason. Meanwhile, the royal couple was frantic, unable to make wise decisions when the disappearance of their only child was constant running through their minds. The courts became corrupted, laws were not enforced and crime rates flew sky high. As a result, a new type of magic was soon discovered: black magic.
