Merge the two images by adjusting your eyes correctly to see in 3D. Set disparity before hitting flag. Disparity of about 3 or 4 seems best for the 3D effect.
Left and right images are offset by "disparity" slider amount. Very small disparities yield little 3D stereo. A disparity of 4 in this project corresponds to about 11 degrees of the full 360 turn of sun. The sun is so huge that to see different angles, by this degree, it would be as if you were the size of this star.
