“i’m not scared of anything” a blatant lie. we’re afraid of a lot of things—whether it be death, the dark, or spiders. but one of the thing’s i’m afraid of? loving someone—or putting your trust in them. not any religious figure, but a human. loving one. knowing them dearly. spending all your days with them. why? the average human lifespan is 70-80 years old. that’s a short time in perspective. “but it’s the longest thing that will happen to you” but just imagine someone you love, with all your fiber of being, dies. none of their living to be left to love. nothing that will ever compare to that. nothing that will compare to holding them close. i don’t know about you— but how would i live? wouldn’t i rather die with them than live without them? it scares me more than i’d like to admit. one day, there will be no more “them” to say “i love you” to. a bond of love, broken by death. it should shake you to your core. wouldn’t you want to hold onto the people you love and not let go? and imagine YOU die and someone has to feel this pain. there are people who love you, whether one person or a thousand. cherish the ones you love, for they are ephemeral.
