Talking Loud : The Lost Ones : Extra Story Dani wished goodbye to the other groups before he and James flew home, his wing still ached from the attack and flying was hard but James supported him. If he felt that he was falling, he made sure to land and rest before continuing. Eventually, they reached their base just before the sun began to set. Dani went to put their stuff back into a chest, something hadn’t made sense today, why had James accused Blake and Fay so quickly, there was little to no evidence and it didn’t make sense. He pulled away from the chest and hit his head on the shelf above it, “Arghh.” He grunted in pain, it wasn’t a bad injury, just a little painful. He walked back into the main room, rubbing his head. “You ok there?” James asked with a smile. “Yeah, just hit my head tryna put some stuff back into the chests,” he replied. “Well be more careful, I don’t wanna see you get hurt again,” he said, smiling softly. “Yeah, I know,” he said. The night passed quickly yet Dani still woke early, as he had every night previously. He lay there, staring at the ceiling, listening to the mobs burn outside. He couldn’t fall asleep so he lay trying to feel awake. James woke up after a while, “Woke up early again?” He asked Dani. “Yeah,” he replied, sitting up and looking across the room towards James. “Well come on, let’s go get some food,” he got up and walked towards the room where the chests were. “Hey, I forgot to ask yesterday, why did you blame Blake and Fay so quickly?” Dani called between the rooms, as he put on his beanie. “It just, they seemed the most likely to have attacked the others, they had no injuries, you know?” He called back. “Yeah, but like, it’s not a lot of evidence and they helped Sal and Mal.” “Come on! That could’ve been a huge cover-up and they showed up just after the attacker left!” James said, his voice raised. “You’re not listening to me! There’s no evidence and even then, why accuse either of them!” Dani called back, his voice raised too. “I.. I just wanted to keep us both safe, I care about you.” James said, stepping into the corridor between the rooms. Dani smiled, “I love you too.”
