Click the Cat to change the variable, the variable should not reset even if you leave the page. You have to be logged in for it to work.
The 1000th clicker updates every time you click the Scratch Cat or click the green flag. The 1000th clicker's username will always be in caps, because the "<[ ] = [ ]>" block is not case-sensitive. The same applies to the 500th, 1337th, 2000th, 10000th and 20000th clickers.
