i'm honestly getting real tired of this thing in the ROSS (and society overall) where people say the absolute worst things to others and then try to justify it by saying "it was just a joke". i mean, i'm not innocent whatsoever because i've said horrible things that hurt people, but at least i genuinely apologized for it and didn't try to fall back on the "joke" excuse. people seem to think that the things they say will have no effect as long as they don't truly mean it, when that's just not true. words can hurt. obviously not physically, but someone can be mentally and emotionally affected by insults and other mean things people say, even if those things are labeled as "just jokes". too bad everybody thinks it's okay because they overvalue the "funny" aspect over anything else. it needs to stop.
