If you were to ask any of the Aregonauts you would never get a straight answer. None of them will ever point to the True Void, because none of them remember the True Void. There is a single spirit who is responsible for the lives of all of the Aregonauts, she was the one who created them, and if she likes them well enough she will select a Aregonaut to leave their life and memories of the True Void behind and ascend to the living world.
