-Spoilers for TotK- Ganondorf began shooting gloom at us, and Rauru countered it with his light powers, the two of them canceling each other out. My heart pounded in my chest as I looked up at Ganondorf, who was ominously looming over all of us. The Sages spread out, ready to take on Ganondorf from all sides. Seven against one, I thought. Surely the odds are in our favor. But there was no clear way to tell. I readied my powers, my hands glowing light yellow as I waited for the right opportunity. I watched as the Gerudo chief ran around the right, holding up her shield to block Ganondorf’s gloom attacks. She swung her scimitar, trying to hit him with lightning. However, Ganondorf dodged and the lightning missed. The Demon King waved his hand, and a sword appeared in his hand. The Goron chief tried to strike him from behind, but somehow Ganondorf could block even the mighty Goron, pushing him away. The Zora queen was graceful, and luckily didn’t get hit by Ganondorf’s blasts. But when she approached to try and deal some damage, he hit her with his blade, causing her to fall to the ground. Oh no, I thought, terrified. I ran up to her, and she grimaced, but she got up, ready to continue fighting. The Rito Sage flew through the air, and shot a flurry of arrows, but Ganondorf knocked them away with his sword. He shot a blast of gloom, and it struck the Rito. “Gah!” he called. I ran up to him. “We Rito aren’t very accustomed to close-range combat,” he said to me. Oh, what can I do? I thought. I had no weapon, and I didn’t know how I could use my powers to fight the Demon King. Everyone fought valiantly, but it seemed that no matter how hard we tried, no one could get in a single blow. “Give up,” Ganondorf said. “You know there is no way you can win.” I was almost starting to believe that. I reached for the Purah Pad, but then I stopped. No! This isn’t over yet! I looked up as Ganondorf swung his blade at Rauru. I held up my hands, freezing the blade in time. He struggled for a moment, before breaking the sword out of my power. He turned to face me, and my eyes widened. I swear I could hear my own heartbeat from how hard it was beating. I scrambled to get away, but he held out his hand and shot an orb of gloom. I gasped as it hit, pain spreading throughout my whole body. The gloom seemed to be draining my life force, but soon it dissipated. But I was still shaking from the blow. Finally, Rauru shot an orb of light at Ganondorf and it made contact. But he merely grunted and continued to fight. This was harder than any of us had thought. We were fighting for quite some time, and each of us was beginning to grow weak from his attacks. Then, Mineru charged forward, holding out her spear, hoping that she could deal a good blow. But Ganondorf turned around, and as he dodged her strike, it seemed like time slowed as Mineru turned, eyes wide as Ganondorf swung his sword. He threw Mineru to the ground, and she dropped her spear. He picked it up and snapped it in half. “Mineru! Are you ok?!” I called out, worried for her. She started to stand up again, and for a minute I thought she was going to be okay. But then Ganondorf shot more gloom at her, holding out his hand as he drained her power. Her ears were drooping lower than I had ever seen them as she struggled to stay upright. Then, she collapsed to the ground. “No!” I shouted. “Mineru!” Everyone was struggling to continue. I was on the floor, struggling to stand, desperately wanting to help Mineru. But how could I? Rauru was panting, and Ganondorf turned to him. I was worried that he was about to kill every last one of us. Rauru’s ears pointed back, and it looked as though he was thinking deeply. I watched as he closed his eyes, then opened them, and it seemed that he had an idea. He raised his arms, and we all turned our heads to see what he was going to do. All of the Sages, in one last attempt, threw each of their weapons at Ganondorf. But he dodged each of them, and they flew behind him. Desperate to defeat him, I held out my hands, and they began to glow. Each of the weapons froze in place, before reversing their movements back toward Ganondorf. “I’ve seen this before!” He said as he struck each of them from the air. “And now. . .” He turned around. “Rauru!” But Rauru was nowhere to be seen. Then, suddenly, we all heard his voice. “That pride will be your downfall, Ganondorf!” Everything seemed to go in slow motion as Ganondorf turned around to see Rauru, with his third eye flipping open and Secret Stone glowing brightly as he swung his arm around. He thrust his hand into Ganondorf’s chest, green light erupting from his hand. The symbol of his Secret Stone appeared, completing the seal. His hand began drawing the gloom away from Ganondorf, and green light swirled behind Rauru. My eyes widened as I watched from the side, unable to do anything. (continued in description)
This fanfiction is a made-up story that may not be canon-official in places. However, it does contain some canon dialogue and events that are represented in Tears of the Kingdom's Memories. Everything else was either interferenced from what the game shows the player, or created to flesh out the characters' personalities. (chapter continued down here) “You bind my heart and steal my magic. You plan to hold me here. . .” Ganondorf said, struggling against Rauru’s power. “What a clever way to solve your problems,” he added. “But are you ready to pay the price for this?” “Don’t be so smug.” Rauru said, determined. “I know exactly what it will cost me.” Then I realized what he was going to do. “Rauru!” I cried, not wanting to lose him too. But I was helpless to stop it. “Thousands of years will pass in the blink of an eye. You only delay the inevitable.” Ganondorf said, not bothering to try to stop Rauru anymore. “You’re wrong.” Rauru said, not a hint of fear in his voice. “Years from now, someone will appear with the sword that seals the darkness. A swordsman with the power to defeat you - Link. Remember. . .this name.” “Link. . .” Ganondorf thought aloud. “Interesting. . .I look forward. . .to meet. . .ing. . .him. . .” His waving hair slowed to a halt, and the eerie glow of his gloom became dark as he and Rauru froze in place, where they would stay for thousands of years. And all we could do was stand in shock and grief. TO BE CONTINUED. . .
