[English] Earth Day 2024 ----- Happy Earth Day, everyone! Earth Day is an annual event in celebration of the Earth and to demonstrate support for environmental protection. It is celebrated every year on April 22 and has become a global event, celebrated in over 190 countries. The official theme for 2024 is “Planet vs Plastics” - a call for a drastic reduction in the production of plastics to protect our health and the health of our planet. As a way to celebrate this year, we invite you to create projects related to the Earth and environmental protection! Looking for ideas to get started? - Make a card to celebrate Earth Day - Design a game about planting trees - Create artwork using recycled materials and bring it to life on Scratch - Create a project to help others learn about the history of Earth Day - Design a game about cleaning up the ocean - Create a tutorial to help others learn about recycling - Create a project about plastic pollution and how we can help be part of the solution - Make an animation about a water bottle learning what it means to be environmentally friendly - Think about the theme “Planet vs Plastics” and make a project related to that! The official theme for Earth Day this year is “Planet vs Plastics”. It is a call for the end of plastics for the sake of human and planetary health, demanding a 60% reduction in the production of plastics by 2040 and an ultimate goal of building a plastic-free future for generations to come. How can I get involved? There are lots of ways to celebrate the earth and be more environmentally conscious. A few suggestions from the organizers of Earth Day: Plastic pollution is one of the biggest concerns we face environmentally. Using more reusable materials and less single-use plastics is something we can all do to help. - Plant a tree! - Use your voice to help others learn about the importance of protecting our planet - Help keep our beaches, oceans, rivers, lakes, trails, parks, etc, clean from litter. - What other ways can you think of to help?
