Spoilers. you know this. Also read part 1 first. | | | | | | | V Yeah so this half wasn't very good. I think it is fair to start with my main problem: EVERYTHING IS SO RUSHED AND FORCED OH MY GOD. This tries way to hard to do way to much and...it just doesn't work! Every character seems to go through a really unneeded arc last second, and is suddenly good in the end. I don't know why EVERYONE needed to be redeemed by the end. I can understand most, but you are telling me that they convinced every single member of the Unvitational Commitee to be good by the end? Even Springy and Walkie Talkie? The way Firey and Sprinkles just imediently swap sides without a second thought felt rushed and lazy. Springy's reasoning was even worse! I would have preferred if he had just been evil to the bitter end, or had come to his conclusion in a more natural way. Like..your telling me Cabby saying "oh yeah hurting people is bad" is enough to convince him to be good? Thanks for crapping on episode 14, the best episode in the season, by making Springy look like an absolute joke instead of an intiminating presence. Not to mention that making him alive by the end completely takes out the weight of his sacrifice!!! I will say that I do like the short moment with 4S, it is really cool to see he still exists, but I think the moment would have been 50x more impactful it Springy had parished doing his final good deed instead of being brought back. And if you DO want to redeem him, you could have done something like this: Springy, petty at Cabby's reasoning is still mad and votes to melt MePhone. He goes with Walkie to the volcano (without taking the floor with him), and is about to push him in. But the finalists finally make him realize how irrational he is being, and he sacrifices himself to save MePhone the same way he does in the episode, and dies. He doesn't get brought back, he just dies. Oh yeah Cabby won. I thought this would make me upset or angrier than I actually ended up. Her winning was fine, it didn't make me upset. Balloon and Silver finishing their arcs were okay too. But her prize is this building? MePhone explains that he didn't have a budget for the million dollars that was promised, but can't he just make stuff out of thin air? Just do that! And of course Walkie Talkie is good now because plot must happen. The last time we saw her she was talking about how she hates MePhone and now she is fine with just being on a shelf for the rest of her life. Now since I am ending off the season with this review, I think I should end on a positive note. The best part of the episode was Ballpoint Pen's subtle appearence, and how he was NOT in the Unvitational Commitee. THANK GOD he just got this subtle cameo, because it would assassinate his entire character if he were to join the Unvitational Committee. And plus, the "You can't do this forever" is SUPER meta. So honestly, this second half wasn't nearly as bad on rewatch, but it is fair to say it threw everything at the wall and nothing stuck. I would say it's a solid 4/10 experience, still not good but better than before. Anyways now that S3 is finally finished, S2 is back! Lets hope it doesn't get the BFDIA treatment. Anyways, see you next time when I yap about Paper Mario! Bye bye!
