To play an open note, just tap g, d, a, or e. For the fingerings on each string, simply hold the number finger and the open note character at the same time. Ex. 1a, 3d, 2e. Note that 4th fingers are not supported because the virtual instrument would sound the same playing a fourth finger as playing an open string.
