Founded on December 13th, 1944, Films Maltin (Malta Films in English) is a government-owned, Maltese-language film production and distribution studio & company. While the country of Malta was still occupied by the United Kingdom, the film business ended up skyrocketing around the late 30s in European regions and territories, and the Crown Colony of Malta territory was no different. The company produced about 48 films from 1944 until the colony's formation to the State of Malta in 1964 (later the Republic of Malta since 1974).
